Aviation Day 2001

One Fine Service Doggin Day

"Hay"

Hay made my Day

Hay had been in the hospital

for the last two nights, parvo...

I picked him up after aviation day at about 6 pm...He had not seen me for two days and the greeting I got met with my fantasy greeting...

It started with that look,

"Is that really you?"

then

the butt started the warm-up wiggle...

his tail started to move...

he moved slowly towards me...

our eyes meet and then he

WENT BERSERK!!!

His heavy tail pounded out a nice drum beat on the walls of the

aluminum  kennel...

his arms/legs landed on my shoulders as I knelt before him...

As his nose went down my throat and his tail created a tornado in the mid-west...

I thought of the Now...

Now can be Great!!!

Aviation day at the Montague Airport was Great, as usual...Of course I am a little bias since I actually started it back in '91, the year of my "disabling" accident ... one day I will tell my story but now is now and today I/we went back...Yup...If you are a follower of the journeys of a service dog then you know I mean me an Al...He was fantastic as always...I'll show you a couple of pics but this day with my Sony Mavica FD92 I was taking lots of other pictures...

Home is at 2 o'clock...range...25 to 30 miles...

Alex had quite the day...Lots of people, lots of noise, nearby landing helicopters, other dogs, lots of kids, food...Potential overload you think??? Not Big Al, solid as a rock, then, Wal-Mart on the way home...I got some neat pics and movies with my Sony Mavica FD92 camera...Click Here and download this short, small file movie of Alex in action...When it comes to going home he is VERY obedient...

This has been a very short run down on the day...Look for an event in your area and enjoy the now, hopefully with your Dog
